All Summer Long is the second book in the Follow Your Heart Series. I have not read the first book, Once Upon a Summertime, but didn’t feel that I needed to in order to enjoy this story. I had fun reading about Tia and her Italian family and found it hard to put the book down. Carlson kept my interest, and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. All Summer Long is set in modern day San Francisco, California. Tia is an amazing chef and I found myself wishing I could eat some of the delicious meals she was making. Deciding she needs something different in her life she decides to go on an adventure.
All Tia had ever wanted was to work in her family’s restaurant. Now that she’s been doing that for a long time, she wonders what else is out there. When her aunt calls with an opportunity to be a chef on a yacht in San Francisco, she jumps at the chance. Knowing it’s going to be a lot of work doesn’t dim her excitement a bit. When Leo, an acquaintance from the past ends up being the captain of her aunts’ boat, Tia feels that life can’t get much better. That is until she finds out that Leo isn’t single. Fighting her feelings is no easy battle, and Tia feels trapped. Not knowing what God’s plan is for her life makes Tia wonder just what He’s up to. Can Tia hand over the reigns of her life to the one who has her best interests at heart? Or will her Italian side take over?
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance. It was interesting learning more about dinner cruises, yachts, and all that entails. This was a story that shows that the best is not always what’s right in front of you. That we need to make decisions for ourselves, not based on what others think is best for us. There is so much I want to tell you about this story, but don’t want to spoil anything. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
